Share your ideas with us to how we can work together to promote businesses.

We are an up-and-coming dance Company based in Berkshire and Surrey and are looking for companies to assist in sponsoring our dance events.

As an introduction, Gemma and myself, Luissa, are Secondary School teachers in Bracknell and also the principals of the UDC. We have noted from our experience working with the students that they must be engaged actively outside of school and not just rely on activities inside.

We have worked together with local councils to give the community youth opportunities to further their interests and ambitions.

Our Urban Dance Company (UDC) is a registered Limited Company.  We have been established since 2004 and specialise in “fresh 'n' funky”, “Street Dance, “Hip-hop” and “Break Dance.”

UDC is unique because we train amateur dancers as well as semi-professionals in a fun and friendly environment to become experts within the dance group.

Street dance was originally created to keep children off the street in urban areas.  Today, however, it has transformed into an art and is well respected within the eyes of children.  We have found that children enjoy our classes, as it is a fun way to socialise, keep fit and learn a new skill.

Within the UDC we have a number of fully qualified choreographers, all of whom teach classes in different areas in Berkshire and Surrey to provide for all ages and abilities. All classes throughout term time train and rehearse ready to perform in the end of term shows.

We encourage beginners from dance and non-dance backgrounds to join one of UDC's many classes to learn original dances at varying paces.

Currently the “flava” in street dance is combining many different disciplines and styles of dance to create new and innovative forms of dance. Here at UDC we combine street dance with hip-hop, break-dance, salsa, ballet, contemporary and jazz into our routines.

We have professional groups that enter competitions and events that demonstrate the standard of our dancers and Company, UDC’s Street and Hip Hop Crews, BAY B SHAM, SLAM and UDC’s Break Dancing Crew, UNITED BREAKZ.

UDC's classes perform in three main scale theatre shows per year. In addition, we perform in various clubs and events around Berkshire and Surrey.

UDC sponsors a different charity for each of our large theatre shows. In the past we have sponsored Multiple Sclerosis, Berkshire's Give a Child a Chance, Kids with Leukaemia and Imperial Cancer Research Fund to mention a few.  Our dancers have an active role in choosing the charities we sponsor. For our next show in April 2008, Urban Power, we will be sponsoring Children In Need.

As well as organising and running classes in and around the Berkshire and Surrey, we provide a business for dance parties, competitions, choreography training programmes and opportunities to compete in UDC's professional groups. Our classes consist of a fusion of different styles taught by various choreographers.

Sponsorship:

We currently produce and perform three large scale shows a year in theatres in Surrey and Berkshire and are looking for sponsorship to help with theatre costs and also the stage costumes for our dancers and uniforms for our professional groups.

One off payments

One off payments would be greatly appreciated of any amount. The theatres are expensive to hire as well as organising costume to be interesting and visual on the stage at budget cost. Urban Dance Company (UDC) Ltd would like to make the performances as professional as possible by having exciting costumes and uniforms for the dancers. These then can then be worn as the Company’s uniform after the show within our classes when they train and rehearse for future shows.

If you would like to pay a one off sponsor payment for one of our shows, we will include a sponsor link to your website where information on your company would be accessible as you require. We will advertise your company in a 1/2-page advert within the programme for the night of our show you are sponsoring and a month advertisement on the website. The shows are performed to an audience of 1,200-2,000 which means readership of the programme is generally around 3,000 to 4,000.

For example, hairdressers or Make-up artists could bring a team of stylists along to the show to style hair or make-up for portfolios and to practice new designs for their company promotions. We are available for any of your companies’ promotional events we can also provide for a one off payments, dancers to assist in your own promotional events.

Advertising

If you would like to promote your company or business by advertising in the current show’s programme fees are as follows:

Half page advert in the programme.

Full page advert in the programme.

If you are interested in placing an advert or sponsoring our dance Company, please call me to discuss your thoughts or requirements on 07824443666.

Our Mission statement:
We aim for our dance classes and events to provide a way to keep fit, socialise with others, have fun and gain a sense of achievement. Each individual is important to us, which is why we work hard to develop their unique flare and provide opportunities for all dancers to progress.

“Believe in Yourself.... Gain Confidence.... and Dance!”

We would like to thank you for taking the time to read our request and look forward to receiving a favourable response and your support.

Yours sincerely,

For and on behalf of The Urban Dance Company.
